My Art Space |
My drawing table happens to be in this room, which was painted and decorated a few years ago. There is a daybed with a trundle for guests in this room, as well as a beautiful desk and chair. I have read a bit about Feng Shui and I knew my chi was way off balance in this room, since this was the room to close the door and sort with stuff later. All of this going through stuff is not any fun at all, but very necessary to get myself out of being stuck. I believed my art table was in a place that did not foster creativity, it was in a dark corner. So, the desk is in the place where the the table was and I am thoroughly enjoying having my laptop computer in this space and sitting here typing away now. My table is where it is visible to anyone passing by, and is near the window and sunlight, should the sun decide to come out and be seen. It just feels alot better, and I believe there is more energy by just moving the table out. I had previously been using the dining room table, or a corner in the living room, and I won't say I will not use those places again, but this is a nice place to sit quietly with some nice music on.
The corner has a nice bird hanger, which I have filled with a crocheted birds nest I found when I visited Illinois last fall, and I have filled this nest with nest filler and eggs I found at a craft strore. Above, is a mink that ladies wore on their shoulders way back, I positioned him/her there as if it is watching those eggs. (Now, some of you may be wrinkling your nose to a mink there, but to me it was a rescue mission, I found him at the same place I found the birds nest and he was in a basket for sale, and my thought was how close he was to being in a dumpster, and then his life would really have been in vain if that happened, so I bought him!) In his mouth is a purple silk rose, since this is the prosperity part of my room and purple is the prosperity color. I am not done with arranging my space, but I am on my way and feeling better. Spring is coming and hopefully the dry spell will be over.
I'm sitting at your desk now and I agree that it is very nice to have the computer in this space. I actually feel like doing something! I should go organize my desk so I can feel this way upstairs. ;)
ReplyDeleteI've been experiencing a dry spell, too and I feel like it is because of the winter. I am so looking forward to spring when I can be outside in the grass with Jasmine enjoying nature again.
I'm also looking forward to Spring cleaning!
Love you!

Thanks so much for writing this. You may be right about it being winter, maybe once it is Springtime, and it is warm and sunny, the windows will be open, we will breathe in the new life of the new season and feel more energy, and make wonderful art!
